Why we exist

By God’s grace and through His Spirit we have recognized that if it were not for God’s love for us, expressed through the sacrifice of His Son, we would be without hope or dead in our sins.

God did not simply say that He loved us but backed up His words with action and as believers in Christ we believe that He has called us to do the same.

With the population of Galveston County growing, so are the needs.

We realize that there are hurting people all around us, some of the most dire are struggling just to survive; they lack the basic necessities such as food, water, clothing, shelter, others have just lost their job and are struggling financially, others are facing sickness or the loss of a loved one and the list goes on and on…

While UChurch may not be able to help everyone, we can help someone and one day that someone may be you or one of your family members.

Some of the Scriptures that are foundational to UChurch are:

Mark 12: 29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Luke 3: 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

James 1:22 “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only…”
